The Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball team is headed to New York.
The Pack will take on the Iona Gaels of New Rochelle, N.Y. in an ESPN BracketBusters game on Feb. 18. The 1 p.m. (PDT) game will be televisned on either ESPN or ESPN 2.
Iona is 17-5 and in first place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Gaels are 5-1 at home.
Iona is led by 6-1 senior point guard Scott Machado, who leads the nation with 9.9 assists a game. Machado also averages 13.4 points a game and 1.5 steals.
The Gaels also feature 6-7 forward Michael Glover, who is averaging 18.8 points and 9.0 rebounds a game. Guard Lamont Jones (6-foot junior) averages 14.9 points and 3.3 assists.
The Wolf Pack, 18-3 overall and riding a 15-game winning streak, is 6-2 in BracketBuster games. All six victories, though, have come at Lawlor Events Center (over Toledo, Vermont, Akron, Northern Iowa, Virginia Commonwealth and Irvine).
The Pack is 0-2 on the road in BracketBusters games, losing at Missouri State in 2009-10 (62-60) and at Southern Illinois in 2007-08 (74-49).
All Western Athletic Conference teams will be in action on Feb. 18 in non-league games. Drake is at New Mexico State, Fresno State is at Cal State Northridge, Hawaii is at Montana, Portland State is at Idaho, Central Arkansas plays at Louisiana Tech, San Jose State is at Sacramento State and UC Santa Barbara travels to Utah State.
The Pack game and the New Mexico State game are the only WAC games to be televised over the ESPN network.
