First baseman Austin Byler and right fielder Brad Gerig were named to the first team while relief pitcher Colby Blueberg and outfielders Trenton Brooks and Kewby Meyer were named to the second team.

The Wolf Pack, which finished 15-15 in Mountain West games this year, open the Mountain West tournament Wednesday night in Las Vegas against Fresno State.

Only statistics compiled in Mountain West games are used in determining the All-Mountain West teams, which are selected by the conference's coaches.

Byler, a junior, hit 10 home runs and drove in 23 runs in Mountain West play. Byler, who moved to first base this season after playing third his first two seasons, also hit .325 and had five doubles and four triples while scoring 28 runs.

Gerig, a senior, became a full-time starter for the first time this year in his Wolf Pack career. Gerig led all Wolf Pack hitters with a .375 average in Mountain West games and also hit three homers and drove in 20 runs.

Blueberg had a 0.39 earned run average in 18 games and 23 innings. The junior struck out 21 and walked just three and allowed just 14 hits. Just one of the hits he allowed, a double, was for extra bases.

Brooks, a freshman, hit .347 in league games with 15 RBI and 15 runs scored.

Meyer hit .333 with 11 doubles in league games. Meyer also struck out just four times in 129 at-bats.

Fresno State's Jordan Luplow, who hit .470 with 23 runs, 29 RBI and 14 doubles, was named the Mountain West Player of the Year. UNLV's Tim Chambers, who led the Rebels to a 20-10 league record and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, was named the Coach of the Year.
