It is something that every hockey fan eventually wonders. It’s is probably one of the best kept secrets in hockey. How do they paint the lines and the logos on the floor of the ice rink?

Well here in Hartford, the secret is out. The Wolf Pack staff opened up the arena to fans on September 10 to witness and even participate in the process. A group of about 20 fans, both young and old, were waiting to take part in the ice painting. This is the 17th year of Hartford being the home of the New York Rangers top affiliate the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The ice painting event will coincide with the opening of sales for single game tickets. .

People interested in joining the painting of the ice were encouraged to participate or watch how the process is done. Fans were actually able to take a brush and apply the “Jet Ice” to the rink. It may be the only chance a Hartford hockey fan will get to go behind the scenes at the XL Center.

The team recently returned to the Hartford Wolf Pack after a three year stint as the Connecticut Whale. The team has won a Calder Cup in the 1999-2000 season and has made the playoffs all but three times in their 17 year history.

We are just under a month until opening night when the Hartford Wolf Pack will begin their season long battle to capture the Calder Cup. The season begins on October 5 against the Norfolk Admirals.
Season ticket information can be found at the following link; www.hartfordwolfpack.com.

If you would like to contact the Wolf Pack staff about any information please call this number; (855)-762-6451.

There are individual and group ticket plans for this season. There are 38 home games this season and in anyone of them just about anything can happen.

The last step before opening night is a few preseason games which will be held at the XL Center along with area rinks around the greater Hartford area.
