Marc Wanaka, Kyle Richardson and Ray McIntire will join the Nevada Wolf Pack's baseball program this season, completing the staff of first-year coach Jay Johnson.
Pitching coach Dave Lawn and position coach Mark Kertenian were hired after Johnson’s hiring in June.
“We are very excited to add these three coaches to our staff,” Johnson said. “All three bring unique strengths to the program which will help our players develop at the highest possible level.”
Wanaka will be the Director of Player Development, a new position in the program. He spent the last four seasons as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at San Diego Mesa College. Wanaka also spent two seasons from 2007-09 at El Paso Community College (Texas) as associate head coach and pitching coach and was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Shasta College in Redding, Calif., from 2004-06.
Richardson will be a volunteer assistant for the Wolf Pack. He had three seasons as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Yuba College (Calif.) and one season as the infield coach at Sierra College (Rocklin, Calif.).
McIntire played his senior season for the Pack in 2013 under former head coach Gary Powers and will work as a student assistant while completing his degree in human development and family studies at Nevada.
“I am pleased to have Ray stay with the program as he finishes his degree here at Nevada,” Johnson said. “Ray has a very bright future in coaching.”
