The Nevada Wolf Pack's pistol offense has attracted another quarterback.
Dante Mayes of Freedom High School in Oakley, Calif., has given the Wolf Pack a verbal commitment, according to Scout.com. The first day recruits can sign a Letter of Intent is Feb. 6.
Mayes is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound mobile quarterback who can throw on the run.
He passed for 2,487 yards and 26 touchdowns with just five interceptions this past season for Freedom and also rushed for 319 yards. As a junior in 2011, Mayes passed for 1,557 yards and 22 touchdowns (10 interceptions) and ran for 207 yards.
Mayes also drew serious interest from UC Davis. He opened a lot of eyes at the Elite 11 Regional Camp in Oakland earlier this month.
