Revolutionary War history buffs, rejoice! The Wolf Creek/Pine Run Grist Mill in Loudonville, Ohio is offering a living history event that is right up your alley that you won't want to miss. Plan a jaunt to their Colonial Soldiers Weekend being offered on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24.

Colonial Soldiers Weekend America's colonial era will come to life as visitors get to meet and greet American, British, French and Native American soldiers dressed in traditional 18th century uniforms.

Among the activities at the Colonial Soldiers Weekend will be cannon demonstrations, building a wigwam, uniform inspections and a trading demonstration between Native Americans and Europeans.

The highlight of the event will be a battle re-enactment featuring a typical 18th century Revolutionary War battle in North America.

Local vendors will be providing food for purchase.

While at the event make sure to check out the historic grist mill which was built in 1831. The grist mill was moved to its present site in 1970 and was restored to operating condition by Mark Smith and his all-volunteer group, Friends of the Mill.

You will also want to pay a visit to the Welcome Center on the property located in an 1815 log cabin. The Mill and Welcome Center are open most Saturdays and Sundays from noon - 5 p.m. from Spring to Fall.
