Wolf Creek/Pine Run Grist Mill hosts an International Wine Festival

The historic Wolf Creek/ Pine Run Grist Mill in Loudonville, Ohio is giving wine enthusiasts a chance to savor some excellent vintages and great food set amidst a picturesque landscape when they host an International Wine Festival on Saturday, June 7. It is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from Cleveland to Loudonville.

International Wine Festival Featuring a wide variety of wines from Ohio and around the world, visitors to the International Wine Festival will be able to sample wines by glass or by bottle. For a $10 admission, guests will receive a logo sampling glass and the tastings.

For an additional $15 per person, guests can partake of the Wine and Food Pairing session taking place from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. There will be 5 food courses paired with 5 different wines. The pairing include artisan cheese/Italian sausage (with Lighthouse Cayuga White wine), a fresh fruit medley (with Twilight wine), Texas caviar ( with Silver Lining Riesling), spicy chicken pinwheels (with Old Vine Zinfandel) and gourmet mini cheesecakes ( with Honeymoon Mead).

For those not taking part in the Wine and Food Pairings, never fear. There will be food available for purchase.

No outside food, beverages or coolers will be permitted on the grounds.

The International Wine Festival is also a family event with a scavenger hunt (complete with prizes) for kids and free ice cream for the children.

Wolf Creek/Pine Run Grist Mill While at the Festival be sure to check out the historic grist mill which was built in 1831. The grist mill was moved to its present site in 1970 and was restored to operating condition by Mark Smith and his all-volunteer group, Friends of the Mill. Don't miss a visit to the observation deck above the mill.

You will also want to pay a visit to the Welcome Center on the property located in an 1815 log cabin. The Mill and Welcome Center are open most Saturdays and Sundays from noon - 5 p.m. from Spring to Fall.

Within the last couple years, an 1880 saw mill and 7 more historic cabins were donated and moved to the site for restoration. Future plans include creating a historic village on the site.

Hours for the International Wine Festival are noon - 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. Again, admission is $10 per person for the wine tasting and an additional $15 per person for the Wine and Food Pairing session. Tickets for everyone under the age of 21 are $1 (no alcohol drinking allowed).

The Wolf Creek/Pine Run Grist Mill is located at State Route 3 in Loudonville, Ohio. It is approximately a 90 minute drive from Cleveland.
