Tonight at 7 PM, WODS presents Peter Cetera at the Hatch Shell. People are already staking out spots on the Esplanade for what is sure to be a fantastic evening.
Located on the south bank of the Charles River, the Hatch Shell offers a variety of entertainment throughout the summer, perhaps the most famous event being the Boston Pops Orchestra Independence Day Concert. Concerts at the Hatch Shell have become a beloved tradition in Boston, and WODS has been presenting The Oldies 103.3 Free Summer Concert Series there for more than 15 years. Recent performers have included Three Dog Night, The Guess Who and The Rascals. Already this year, WODS has hosted War and Eddie Money.
Peter Cetera is well known as an original member of the band Chicago, and he has also enjoyed a successful solo career. As a solo artist, he has had two number one singles, and an additional three in the top five, according to Billboard. These are in addition to his hits with Chicago, including “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” “You’re the Inspiration, “ and more. Cetera’s solo debut single “Glory of Love” was the theme to The Karate Kid, Part II, and reached number one in the US in 1986. It also won awards including an ASCAP Award for Most Performed Songs From Motion Pictures, and was nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Grammy. He has recorded duets with Madonna, Cher, Chaka Kan, and Amy Grant.
Local artists Ernie & The Automatics will kick off the evening, and the weather promises to be beautiful, so head on down to the Charles for an evening of wonderful free entertainment.
