It looks like Tim Tebow is once again forced to scramble out of the pocket. This time, as World Net Daily reported late Wednesday evening, the "gays" and "leftists" are blasting Tebow for his decision to speak at a conference called "Wildfire Weekend" hosted by Liberty University.
Liberty University is the world's largest Christian University, which was founded by the late, Dr. Jerry Fallwell, back in 1971. 12,000 students attend classes regularly on campus, which is located in Lynchburg, Va. In addition to this, 61,000 students across the country and students from 95 other countries take online courses through Liberty University Online.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Tim Tebow backed away from a scheduled appearance at Pastor Dr. Robert Jeffress' First Baptist Church in Dallas, after he was confronted by a massive wave of media critics who falsely claimed that Dr. Robert Jeffress was anti-Semitic, and anti-gay.
Dr. Jeffress did not back down under the mounting pressure. He boldly, but humbly stood his ground and stood by his words and his Christian faith.
Tebow, on the other hand, for reasons he has not disclosed, decided to pull out of his scheduled commitment, posting on Twitter that he had learned of "new information". What that "new information" was nobody knows, but Tim.
Many of the Christian faith expressed bewilderment or disappointment that Tebow would back out of his scheduled appearance at First Baptist Dallas simply because of the negative coverage that he received.
Now, as World Net Daily reports, gays and leftists are blasting Tebow because he's scheduled to speak at Liberty University.
Brian Tashman of RightWingWatch highlights his objections:
"The university has hosted multiple anti-gay conferences and their law school is being sued over its alleged role in helping Lisa Miller disobey a court order and kidnap her daughter to Central America in order to avoid transferring custody to the girl’s other mother, her former partner."
World Net Daily also quotes RightWingWatch as saying:
“If Jeffress’ anti-gay remarks were too extreme for Tebow, they pale in comparison to the things regularly said by representatives of Liberty University.”
It looks like the tone has already been set by those who apparently do not understand Christianity or who choose to knowingly distort it.
How will Tim Tebow react this time around?
The Wildfire Weekend is described as a "Weekend Where Men, Life, God, and the Great Outdoors Come Together". Other speakers include, Willie Robertson, John Smoltz, Joe White, and Tim Clinton, among others.
