WKRG-TV honored for local newscast about disabled cruise ship

The Radio Television Digital News Association honored WKRG-TV with one of their regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2014 this past Tuesday, April 22nd, for a local newscast about the Carnival Cruise Ship Triumph being towed to the port of Mobile during the previous calendar year due to a fire that caused its engine to stop functioning (the award made WKRG-TV eligible for one of the national Edward R. Murrow Awards to be presented later in the current calendar year on the Monday of October 6th).
