Coming off a stunning victory over the Pacers, the Wizards look for a 2-0 lead when they meet tonight in Game 2 of their NBA playoffs semifinal round. As reported by NBA.com on May 7, 2014, Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind., will host this must-see affair live on TNT (TV broadcast) and TN-TOT (live stream).
With six players scoring in double digits, the (1-0) Washington Wizards put on a dominant performance on their way to a 102-96 victory over the (0-1) Indiana Pacers Monday night. Bradley Beal finished with a game-high 25 points, followed by 22 from Trevor Ariza and Nene pitched in with 15 points.
In the end, Washington simply could not miss from behind the arc, and Indiana could not match their effort. As a team, the Wizards shot just under 42 percent from the field, including 62 percent from downtown and 71 percent from the charity stripe.
For the Pacers, other than Roy Hibbert’s disappearing act, this team actually managed to play pretty well in the opener. As a unit, Indy converted on 41 percent of its shots from the field, 48 percent from three-point range, and shot a sizzling 82 percent from the free-throw line.
Paul George and George Hill led the way with 18 points apiece, while David West poured in with 15 and Lance Stephenson and Luis Scola matched each other stride for stride with 12. According to a May 7 SI report, the Pacers would be willing to trade Hibbert if he’s unable to turn things around.
In fact, Josh Hill goes as far as stating that a loss in this series would probable be enough to send the 2-time NBA All-Star packing. A loss tonight at the hands of the Wizards would be a huge step in that direction, but how likely is it for Indy to go down 0-2?
At ESPN, NBA playoffs oddsmakers have Indiana [-4½] as a four-and-a-half-point favorite tonight against Washington [+4½]. The latest straight-up lines also show that the Pacers are valued at -190, and the Wizards odds of an upset stand at +210.
