The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort is currently getting a little expansion action, and thanks to the wonders of the internet, a few fans were able to sneak a glimpse at the construction progress from on high.
Aerial photos of construction on the Harry Potter theme park section were posted Monday at Hypable, showing what is suspected to be construction of a Gringott's Bank-style roller coaster and/or a Hogwarts Express train to connect Universal Studios' theme park with its partner site, Islands of Adventure.
While Universal Studios has not commented on the specifics of said expansion project, the Orlando Business Journal reported today that Mayor Buddy Dyer touched on the subject during his recent State of the City address, mentioning "the expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter," which is expected to open next year.
New Wizarding World locations are opening in Japan next year and in Los Angeles, California the following year.
