Universal Orlando Resort has posted photos of the Hogwarts Express being loaded onto the tracks at Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Things are really moving along with the expansion. Fans will be able to ride the Hogwarts Express between London and Hogsmeade when the new Diagon Alley expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens at Universal Studios Florida next year.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be in two separate Universal Orlando parks. Hogsmeade and Hogwarts Castles is in Universal’s Islands of Adventure, while the new London and Diagon Alley is being built at Universal Studios Florida. That means that visitors will have to pay for special “Park-to-Park” admission in order to experience the whole of Harry Potter’s world. According to Universal Orlando Resort, tickets purchased online cost $20 less than the gate price. Online park-to-park single day admission is $128 for adults and $122 for children. The best deal appears to be the buy two days, get the third day free price. That costs $146.99 for adults and $136.99 for children for three days.
It’s not cheap, but how else can muggles visit Faerie? Fans who have visited say that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is not just hype, it really delivers. Super fan Linda Jaafar-Cheraif says, “It’s just like the movies! You don’t understand. They did such a great job; it makes you want to buy real estate there!”
In addition to the Hogwarts Express train ride, the new Diagon Alley environment will include some iconic Diagon Alley shops, such as Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, a Gringott’s Bank ride, The Leaky Cauldron restaurant, and King’s Cross Station.
Hopefully Universal Orlando will make an announcement soon about the opening date. As of now, they are still just saying sometime in 2014. As soon as the opening is announced it’ll be time to start planning for that big family vacation to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
