Wizard World brings celebs to New Orleans Con, seeks locals for reality show

Wizard World is bringing big-name celebrities to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on January  28—29 2012.  

Fans have an opportunity to join the ranks of 2012 New Orleans Comic Con celebrities as well.  The following information was released today by Wizard World:

“Wizard World is producing an unprecedented Reality TV show about the world of Comic Cons and the fans who make them thrive! 

“The Pilot for this show will be shot this weekend at Wizard World Comic Con New Orleans, and we are looking for some superfans and collectors to join us! 

“If you are a passionate fan of pop culture, have a collectible item that you are looking to sell via auction, and have a compelling and interesting story to tell, please submit your video testimonial or photo and YOU may be chosen to be a part of TV history! 

“Please email your video or photo totv@wizardworld.com and include your name, contact information, age and a brief background on you and your collectible. Note that only those who are chosen to participate in our show will be contacted directly. If selected, you must be prepared to join us for a portion of our shoot in New Orleans, January 28th and 29th, 2012.

Wizard World Comic Cons pack tens of thousands of fans into science fiction conventions across the US and in Canada.  In addition to New Orleans, Wizard World hosts Comic Cons in Toronto, Philadelphia, Chicago, Austin and more.

The main attraction is the sheer number of film and television celebrities.  The New Orleans event will feature William Shatner (Captain Kirk of Star Trek), Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca of Star Wars), Stan Lee (Spiderman, X-men co-creator), Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb of Firefly/Serenity), Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese of The Terminator ), James Marsters (Spike of Buffy:  The Vampire Slayer), Mary McDonnell (President Laura Roslin of SyFy’s Battlestar Galactica), and Paul McGillion (Carson Beckett, Stargate Atlantis) and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (Annie of The Victim).

The Boondock Saints will be well represented with Sean Patrick Flannery (Young Indiana Jones), Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon of The Walking Dead) and David Della Rocco (BDS, BDS II:  All Saints Day).

Child Star Chandler Riggs of The Walking Dead will also be featured.

Tentatively scheduled is Erin Gray (Wilma Deering, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century).

VIP experiences are available with Shatner, Baldwin, Lee, Marsters, McDonnell, Boondock Saints and more.  Photo ops with celebrities are available with prices starting at $30.
