On Feb. 25 MTV shared a video featuring Snooki, their new "Celebrity Baby Correspondent" as she gives advise to the newest parents on the block, Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose. They gave birth to their first child Sebastian Taylor Thomaz on Feb. 21 and Snooki was the first to congratulate the couple. The advice that Snooki offers is some good stuff that many first time parents don't think about until they become an angry dragon with no sleep. Here are Snooki's newly discovered parenting tips.
"Sh*t happens!" It's true that babies poop a lot, and Snooki obviously found out the hard way that it can get everywhere and the smell lingers. Amber and Wiz should get used to it now because they are looking at several months of poop smells.
Don't taste test baby's food. Breast milk tastes like sour milk and it's amazing that babies like to drink it. It's not worth finding out. That goes for most of the rest of baby food in a jar that babies soon begin eating. Some of the fruits taste just fine but the rest is bland, liquidy, and gross compared to all the fantastic foods that people learn to cook for themselves.
Take it easy the first time around when you go out drinking. After nine months of not consuming any kind of alcohol, caffeine or anything potentially harmful to the baby, a few sips are enough to get you smashed.
Always tell each other that you love each other. You will likely become agitated with your partner as sleep dwindles, the baby takes up a lot of time, and feedings occur. Make time for each other when you have a few moments of quiet time.
The best piece of advice offered-- sleep in shifts! Babies have no sleep patterns but they do tend to sleep a lot. Sleep when the baby does instead of attempting to be super parent and do everything you can in that short time between naps. You will be exhausted.
