As reported on Wednesday, the LA Galaxy managed to win, with the bench, and take the lead in Group 8 of the CCL. The final score against Metapan was 1-0 with the goal made by French player Laurent Courtois.
The Galaxy played without its main soccer stars. These stars included Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane, and Omar Gonzalez. Without them, the LA Galaxy still managed to control the game against the Salvadoran team and win with a lone goal.
The victory put the Angeleno team in the lead of Group 8. Only the top team from each group moves on to the elimination rounds of the CCL.
There are two games left for the Los Angeles Galaxy in this tournament. On September 25, the Galaxy will face Costa Rican team Cartagines in Costa Rica. The Galaxy had already beaten Cartagines 2-0 in LA back in August.
The last game will be against Isidro Metapan again on October 24. That game will be played in El Salvador.
In a sense, the LA Galaxy has it tough. The last two games will be away games. Surely enough, the Galaxy will travel fully loaded and ready to win their group.
