In spite of Obamacare's career cheerleaders (elected Democrats and appointed bureaucrats), that very rare ilk (actual working liberals) are seeing their talents for denial begin to wane. They are progressively (pardon the pun) having their own head-on collision with the reality of affordable health care, as forewarned by sane analysts over three years ago. They do not get to keep their existing insurance plan, nor their doctors, even though they were happy with the policy they had. And furthermore, they will be spending a lot more from now on.
In the congressional hearing yesterday, Health and Human Resources Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and every Democrat interrogator in the room choreographed to laughable amateurism the idea that Barack Obama did not lie or mislead Americans on the more than 20 occasions he publicly guaranteed that happy consumers had nothing to fear prior to the grossly overweight, unread and freedom killing law being passed by his party of simpletons. Most perplexing was the fallback argument mentioned numerous times that all insurance companies routinely cancel coverages from year to year.
This begs the question that was never asked by the still untalented litigators on the right, which would be this: "Secretary Sebelius, is it your testimony today, that if Obamacare was not a matter of law, that the 300,000 people in Florida would have still received their notices of cancellation recently?" Not only would you have been able to hear the proverbial pin drop, you might have even heard its echo a few times off the chamber's walls.
Even the mainstream media has stopped holding its breath for something to celebrate, and the result is that they too smell a rat, and it's coming from the direction of one Barack Obama. News talk show hosts are now showing signs of fatigue with the incessant and impossible scenarios that, in all the scandals of just the last two years, the president has never known a thing about them even existing.
More than equally tiring are the promises from the executive-in-training that he will get to the bottom of it all, identify the problem and bring those responsible onto the carpet. That would include, let's see, Fast and Furious, illegal transfer of tax money to former poster child green and now bankrupt companies, IRS targeting of politically conservative organizations, NSA's invasion of privacies too numerous to list, DOJ survellance on journalists, and the tragedy of American deaths in Benghazi, to name a few. To this day, that carpet in the Oval Office shows no wear at all from any culprit sought to answer for any offenses.
Denial has been a luxury for more than four long years for Mr. Obama and his religious flock, but now one of those scandals has a price tag that affects even some of his faithful. It's time to pay the band, and, not surprisingly, the working and self-sufficient lefties share one thing in common with conservatives. They are fond of their money - even moreso than their socialist electees.
The fun is only beginning. The productive deniers are starting to realize they lost out by hooking up with the slackers to verbally bludgeon Republicans who tried to save them from their king's signature legislation.
