Ever since Mickey Rourke thanked his dogs during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, no interview with the actor is complete without a question about his coterie of canines.
From Barbara Walters to Jay Leno to TMZ, everyone wants to know about Rourke's dogs.
Little surprise then, that the passing of one of Rourke's most beloved dogs--his nearly 18 year-old Chihuahua, Loki--made worldwide news. Especially since the diminutive dog passed away just days before the Oscars, where Rourke was favored to win again for his role in "The Wrestler." (Sean Penn won instead for "Milk.")
Rourke had planned to take Loki to the Oscars, but instead, honored her by wearing a necklace bearing her picture in a small, silver charm.
With Loki’s death and the less-publicized passing of Loki’s brother, Chocolate, Rourke’s canine support system is dwindling.
At one time, Rourke had as many as seven dogs, but now only four remain: a black pug named La Negra, a fluffy white Samoyed named Ruby Baby, and two Chihuahuas named Taco Bell and Jaws.
“He's named Jaws because when I rescued him, I went to give him a kiss and he gave me two stitches in the face,” explains Rourke in Time Magazine. “He's a character.”

even though jaws bit mickey when he rescued him, mickey is to be commended for adopting him when there are so many sheltered chihuahuas that need homes. famous chihuahua
I just love this man. He is so hilarious and kind. Very funny that he is a tough guy but loves little dogs and is not embarassed by it like most macho guys. He is more sexy for it. ...so sad about Loki (she was sooo cute).
mickey rocks and so do his dogs!
