High-score volume tapers off as winter league season winds down.

With a number of fall-winter leagues having already completed the 2013-14 season, it's not surprising that this weekend's high-score report is far more meager than last Sunday's article.

The previous report contained a perfect game, four games in the 290s, four games in the 280s, ten 279s, ten other games from 270-278, plus an 806 series and 34 other series between 700 and 799. To view last week's article, click here.

By contrast, this report, spanning centers in the Sarasota-Manatee-Charlotte County area, is topped by a 132-over-average 290 game by Jared Elmore in the middle of a 623 series during competition in the Kays-Ponger-Uselton Men's League at Treasure Lanes in Port Charlotte.

The next-highest game reported was a 283 by Matt Aiken, as part of a 738 series in the Amore's Italian Restaurant Mixed League at AMF Venice Lanes.

During last week's session of the Environmental A/C League at AMF Gulf Gate Lanes, Brian Oden pounded out a 114-over-average 275 game.

Two other players posted far-over-average series. Jordan Sepper connected for a 175-over 778 on games of 266, 268 and 254 in the Yoder's Restaurant League at Sarasota Lanes, and Mike DiMaglio had a 160-over 712 on games of 224, 246 and 232 in the Shorebirds League at Bowland Port Charlotte.
