During the winter finale of ABC’s “Nashville,” the fate of two characters was left undetermined: Will Lexington and Peggy Conrad. On Jan. 1, She Knows put together some interesting clues that point to Will Lexington surviving his cliffhanger, meaning Peggy Conrad is the one who will be gone from the world of “Nashville” forever. You might consider these spoilers so read at your own risk.
- Based on the promo for the midseason finale, only one was supposed to die. That by itself rules out the possibility that both characters are dead.
- In the promos for the second half, we can see Teddy, talking with Rayna and referring to a tragedy. He is worried about the safety of his family.
- Chris Carmack was added to season 2 as a series regular so it’s not likely the hunky singer would get killed off halfway through the season.
- While we all understand that the train wouldn’t be able to stop in time to avoid hitting Will, he had time to jump out of the way. Also, in the closing moments when Peggy gets shot, a long, blaring train horn can be heard. The train was close enough to have seen Will on the tracks. If he’d been hit, the engineer would know. In the promo for the next episode, Will is described as missing, not splattered.
Those are some pretty convincing arguments for why Will Lexington may have survived his attempted suicide by train. We’ll have to wait for the Jan. 15 return of “Nashville” to find out for sure. Until then, keep checking back for news, spoilers and updates as we get them.
