Witches' Eye is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 1, 2013 during PAX Prime. Revealed in a tweet by Trick Jarret and featured in Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set, Witches' Eye is an uncommon equipment that can make one of your creatures have divine sight.
Witches' Eye - 1
Artifact - Equipment (Uncommon)
Equipped creature has "1, Tap: Scry 1."
(To scry 1, look at the top card of your library, then you may put that card on the bottom of your library.)
Equip 1
The price of prophecy is a vacant eye socket.
Witches' Eye transforms creatures with defender like Basilica Guards that won't be tapping anyways into useful seers that can help improve your card quality. Over the course of a long duel, the amount of lands you transform into business spells could be enough to seal the fate of the game.
With scry returning on multiple cards like Voyage's End and Read the Bones, Witches' Eye may be just the the card to help Duskmantle Seer to be a star in Standard.
There's no doubt that Witches' Eye will be incredibly powerful in limited where it can help you sift through your deck to your bombs, skipping excess lands and replacing them with useful threats.
It's also incredibly flavorful. A Witches' Eye? Who wouldn't want to play with that? Note that you may want to wash your hands before eating or touching your face.
How will you use Witches' Eye?
