April 12, 2010 - Steve Kizewski of Wisconsin Rapids proves all it takes to start your weight-loss journey is one step. He began walking on March 3, 2009, when he weighed in at 336 pounds. Kizewski told The Stevens Point Journal that he started with 20 minutes of walking a day and eventually worked up to six miles. Since that first day he's lost 122 pounds and gone from a 58 waist to a 38.

"I've been on diets my whole life, and I've never seen any progress," he told the newspaper. "So, I'd always given up before. I don't know what made me stick with it this time." Kizewski combined a reduced calorie diet with his daily walking regime to take off the weight. According to The Stevens Point Journal, he now eats around 1,500 calories a day.

And how did he keep walking when Wisconsin winter weather hit? He joined a gym and kept up his routine indoors. "This is a life change; I can never go back," he told the reporter. "This is not a diet. I have to watch what I eat for the rest of my life."

"I was the laziest guy in town," Kizewski told the Journal. "If I can do it, anybody can. This journey has been awesome. I just want to tell people that if you put your mind to it, you can do anything."
