Wisconsin Jr. High School Rodeo lists 2011 competitions

Middle school equestrians in Wisconsin are gearing up for rough-and-tough riding events in 2011 with the Wisconsin High School Rodeo Association’s junior high school division.

Wisconsin junior high school rodeo competitions include:

  • May 20th – Wisconsin Junior High Rodeo, Dubuque, Iowa
  • May 29th – Junior High Rodeo, Arcadia, Wisconsin
  • June 3rd – Wisconsin Junior High State Rodeo Finals, Lancaster, Wisconsin
  • June 26-July 2 – National Junior High Rodeo Finals, Gallup, New Mexico
  • August 12 – Junior High Rodeo, Mineral Point, Wisconsin
  • September 16 – Junior High Rodeo, Medford, Wisconsin

These equestrian events are open to junior high school students in 6th through 8th grades.

Junior high school rodeo events will offer these equestrian competitions:

For Boys:

  • Breakaway Roping (no Calf Roping)
  • Calf Roping (no Breakaway)
  • Chute Dogging
  • Goat Tying
  • Junior Bull or Steer Riding

  • Barrel Racing
  • Breakaway Roping
  • Goat Tying
  • Pole Bending

Team Roping and Ribbon Roping are co-educational at Wisconsin junior high rodeo events.
