Like many other large cities in the United States, Milwaukee even has a food and culture tour available! Consider checking out the Third Ward Food and Culture Tour offered by Milwaukee Food Tours .
This tour takes you on a walking tour through the historic Third Ward district where you will sampe a wide range of cuisines and even try a 5-ounce sample of genuine Wisconsin-brewed beer.
Attendees should plan on walking approximately one mile, with multiple breaks and plenty of opportunities to sit along the way. The tour lasts around 2 - 2 1/2 hours, with about 20 minutes at each restaurant. All tastings are included, along with beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Other beverages are not included and attendees should bring extra cash to purchase other drinks along the way. The tour is held on Saturdays at 5:30pm and there are a few other days and times, based on certain times of the year. The price is $45 per person and does not include gratuity.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will receive a take-home packet of spices to bring the taste of Milwaukee into your own kitchen, plus coupons to revisit local establishments.
Here are some fun facts about the historic Third Ward, as provided by Milwaukee Food Tours:
Did you know that only one firehouse ever burned down in Wisconsin and it was housed in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward? Did you know that many movies were filmed in the Historic Third Ward, including The Blues Brothers and Dillinger? On this tour route, you’ll visit these sites and view the building known as Milwaukee’s “Polish Moon.”
