Wis. Org Offers $1,000 Reward for Dog Abuse Information

OSHKOSH, Wis. - On Thursday, a man pictured here, put a two week old puppy into a garbage bag and threw him behind the dumpsters at Planeview Travel Plaza.

Police say the puppy has a broken pelvis and will need surgery. The dog is being treated at a veterinary hospital.

The Oshkosh Police Department is actively investigating the case. Both the police department and the travel plaza are reaching out using social media to obtain more information.

The Global Conservation Group has put up a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

The suspect is an older caucasian male, driving a maroon semi-truck that was seen heading north on Highway 41.

Oshkosh Police Department Press Release:

On Friday, July 11, 2014, at 8:59 am, the Oshkosh Police Department took a report in regards to a puppy that was placed behind a dumpster by a subject at the Planeview Truck Stop located at 1500 Planeview Drive.

The puppy was located behind a dumpster by an employee at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Planeview Truck Stop. The puppy was in a black plastic gift bag.

Employees viewed video of the area and observed a male subject placing refuse in a dumpster and walking behind the dumpster with a dark object. The subject walks back toward the gas station empty handed.

Photos were taken of the subject in the gas station and are included with this media release. A photo of the semi-truck and trailer are also included in the media release.

The puppy is being taken care of at a local veterinarian hospital. The puppy has a broken pelvis and is going to require surgery.
