Winter X Games medalist tours Twin Cities

Henrik Harlaut, the winner of the skier big air competition at the last Winter X Games, has been visiting ski areas in the Midwest as part of the Inspired Demo Tour. Harlaut, along with Phil Casabon and Paul Bergeron, has already been to Wild Mountain, Buck Hill, and Hyland Hills. At each stop, they've been received by young, enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders.

Today--most likely this afternoon and evening--they will be at Elm Creek.

You can get write-ups from Bergerson, who dubbed Hyland "175 vertical with the most awesome park you can think of." Casebon has plenty of action shots of his time in the Buck Hill halfpipe. On his trip to Wild Mountain, he said, there is "much talent out here in the midwest, rope tows are essential to learning, much quicker then your average lift."

Harulaut, meanwhile, was pleased that Buck Hill's rail yard and halfpipe have their own rope tow.

Even if freestyle isn't your thing, the guys excel at what they do. If you'd like to see some skilled freestyle skiers at work, head to Elm Creek.
