The Boulder Writing Studio kicks off its Winter Workshops for 2013 tonight! And you can still get in on some great writing instruction and crafty cameraderie. Here, ordered by start date, are the workshops starting in January that you can still sign up for. (Note that any workshops designated "(MINI)" are single-session mini-workshops.)

Advanced Screenwriting
January 15-April 2 (10 sessions)
Tuesdays, 6-8:30 PM
Instructor: Robert Gatewood

Accomplished novelist, instructor, screenwriter, and studio president, Robert Gatewood directs this workshop intended for screenwriters with experience in the screenplay form. Under Robert’s lauded professional mentorship, students will be driven by a simple but profound goal: to produce as many draft pages of a full-length screenplay as possible [85–120 pages, approx.], with each writer taking their art & craft to a new level.

Creative Non-Fiction

In this workshop, we will explore the rich terrain of creative non-fiction, including memoir, literary journalism, nature writing, biography and history. This workshop will introduce the basics of writing and drawing your own comics. Students will learn about the tools and techniques used by professional cartoonists and graphic novelists today, and be guided through the process of scripting, pencilling, and inking a comic of their own. The class will also discuss the current state of the comics publishing industry, and provide insight on how to print, market, and distribute your own work. All artistic levels welcome!
