Winter Wonderland in the Swiss Alps

With the holiday season winding to an end, winter is now in full swing.  Everyone knows that it is only a matter of time before the bitter cold weather finally sets in for good. Although many find this a very gloomy and depressing time of year, it also means that winter sport season has now begun and it’s time to start planning your winter trip to one of the world’s top ski resort towns-St. Moritz, Switzerland. This beautiful resort town is located in the Engadine Valley, a few kilometers north of the Piz Bernina, the highest summit in the Eastern Alps.

Twice the host of the Olympic Winter Games, St. Moritz is Switzerland’s most popular winter tourist destination. For those who love winter sports, the facilities in this charming picturesque town are absolutely incredible. There are over 350 kilometers of mountain runs that are perfect for skiing and snowboarding.  St. Moritz’s “house mountain,” or the Corviglia, claims the steepest start slope in the country, with an exhilarating completely vertical drop. The town also boasts one of the oldest natural bob sled runs in the world, as well as a snowboarding park with a half-pipe, tandem parachute jumps, and altitude training.
