Winter WonderFest a holiday destination for families in Chicago

Navy Pier is especially festive for the holidays, when Winter WonderFest is open at the popular Chicago attraction. The family friendly event opened on Dec. 6, 2013 and will run through Jan. 12, 2014.

The pier is decorated with sparkling Christmas Trees and colorful holiday decorations, creating a festive atmosphere for fun and entertainment. Families can enjoy the rides and activities.

New rides include the indoor 28 ft. tall Ice Line Express Zip Line, the Hot Cocoa Cups ride and The Arctic Plunge dual-lane inflatable slide. Favorites from previous years include the indoor Ferris wheel, Pepsi Create-A-Cookie Cottage, Snowy Summit Climbing Wall and Too Cool Video Games. Winter WonderFest Jr. is a a special section expanded this year for kids 46” or smaller.

The Chicago Blackhawks Indoor Ice Skating Rink is back this year providing thrills for all levels of ice skaters! Ice skate rental is included in the price of a Premium Wristband. Guests are also welcome to bring their own skates and skate for free!

Winter WonderTown is a whimsicial village where guests can meet the colorful townsfolk of Winter WonderFest. Ride The Reindeer Express Train Ride that travels in and around Winter WonderTown for a bit of holiday magic.

Admission to Winter WonderFest is free and an activity wristband is required to participate in rides and attractions within the event. Premium wristbands include all rides and activities including ice skating and the regular wristbands include all rides and attractions except ice skating.
