Winter weather advisory through Saturday evening

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire region through Saturday night. Several rounds of winter weather will impact the area through Saturday. The first round of winter weather will move in this morning. Light snow is expected north of interstate 70 by 6 am and will stread south of interstate 70 by 7 am. Light freezing drizzle will be possible south of highway 50 after noon. The snow will mix with freezing rain and sleet this afternoon. The mix will change over to all freezing rain after midnight. Ice accumulation of around .10in and snow and sleet accumulation less then 1 inch.

The freezing rain will begin to mix with snow and sleet from 6 am though 11 am Saturday. Then a slight chance of light snow through the evening. Total snow accumulation of 1-2 inches.

The freezing rain and snow will make roads very slick through Saturday evening. Use caution while driving.

Looking ahead, mostly sunny conditions with temperatures in the 20s this weekend. Our next chance of snow will impact our region Monday night through Thursday night.
