In the immortal words of Frank Sinatra, “Baby, it's cold outside.” At least it was for the past few days. A cold snap put most of the Midwest into a deep freeze for the last week. The cold snap has come to an end, but the temperatures are only slightly above freezing.
People bundled up or stayed indoors, when the outside when the wind drills dropped to single digit temperatures. The cold snap spared residents of West Central Indiana from the extreme temperatures experienced by the far Northern section of the Midwest, but it did result in several two-hour delays.
Friday saw a small amount of snow fall during the morning hours. Additional wintry mixes are expected during the weekend. It should not affect any events scheduled for the weekend. There is no sign yet of the winter of 2013 becoming as mild as the winter of 2012. Sleet and freezing rain care predicted for Sunday.
