Davenport will soon be released from winter’s cold grip. The weather forecast is calling for temperatures in the 40s and 50 by this coming Monday. Do I hear cheers in the distance? Do I feel my seasonal affective disorder waning? Yes!
We have experienced a long, cold, snowy winter, which we will long remember. Davenport’s average snow fall is around 30 inches annually. We have far exceeded that amount for this winter. And cabin fever has been a challenge for many, including myself.
So why have we had such a hard winter? We began with low sun spot activity, combined with El Nino. This is not a good combination, unless you appreciate cold, snowy days.
So look up Davenport, spring is just around the corner. Soon we will enjoy the warm sun caressing our face that will melt away winter’s grip!
