A winter snow storm moved into the North East Friday and will continue through the weekend. Yesterday, the snow storm hit North Carolina, Washington DC, West Virginia, and Virginia yesterday.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for several East Coast cities. The Governor of Virginia declared a state of emergency Friday as a winter storm dumped snow across the state, and the winter storm caused 335 car accidents in the state on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings and blizzard conditions for Washington DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia on Saturday.

12-20 inches of snow is expected throughout the North Eastern states this weekend. Snow is anticipated to create problems from Virginia to Pennsylvania, leaving interstates 95, 81, 64 and possibly 80 covered in snow, CNN meteorologist Chad Meyers said. Meyers recommends that if you live along the east coast that you stay home this weekend if at all possible.

If the winter storm stays on course, several East Coast areas are anticipating some of the highest snowfall accumulations ever; while other cities expect the biggest snowfall since a winter storm in 2003.

The internet buzz created because of the snow storm is popular today because this is a major storm that is shutting down the East Coast, and many people want to see pictures of the snow storm.
