Winter is just beginning, but can be a bit perplexing. Baking summer heat is similar. What to do with kids inside for hours?
Story telling is an ancient activity that is used to relax, teach and entertain.
Reading has been noted as one of the best bonding activities between caregivers and children. It focuses attention, teaches processes and invites consideration of visual and auditory information to conceptualize.
Some people begin reading to children in the womb or even immediately after birth. This exposes the child to words in a pattern, and behaviors that go with respecting and using a book.
Here's a list of a few ideas of good read alouds for very young, through middle gradeschool. Some reference a YOUTUBE reading of a book, with a direct link and others are just link descriptions of a book. The list focuses on things kids might have done in the past, or first hand processes around them that they just might need to watch for.
