Winter Park Resort announced today that it will extend its ski season and extra week with closing day now scheduled for Sunday, April 27. That’s great news and an indication of just how great this season has been snow-wise.
Winter Park reports that it has received 340.5” of snow so far this season (with more on the way, we might add), which is above average for this time of year and only seven inches off the historical average for snowfall in an entire season. March has brought more than five feet of snow (or 61.5” if you like).
Despite adding an extra week of operations, Winter Park Resort will still conduct its Springtopia celebration on the weekend of April 19-20, with free concerts by Big Head Todd and the Monsters and Dumpstaphunk as well as the famous Coca-Cola Spring Splash.
