Figure Skating, Speed Skating and Ice Hockey are all sports that you are able to participate in locally.

  • NIBCO Water & Ice Park in Elkhart features a 5,740 square foot ice rink and a 410 foot skating path.  There are numerous open skate times listed on the website and skate rentals are available.  Check out the City of Elkhart website for more information.
  • Merrifield Ice Rink in Mishawaka has open skate times Friday - Sunday and offers a Learn to Skate program.  Check out the Learn to Skate flyer and the City of Mishawaka website for more information.
  • Howard Park in South Bend has a wide variety of public skating times and skate rentals.  They also offer FREE skate rentals during certain times and Kids Skate Free times, so make sure to check out the South Bend Parks & Recreation website for those details.
  • The Ice Box in South Bend offers hockey, figure skating and public skating.  They also offer skate rentals.  Check out The Ice Box website for more information.

Bobsled, Luge, and Skeleton are going to be hard find locally.  However, Pokagon State Park near Angola has a quarter mile toboggan track that operates on the weekends.  You can experience speeds of 35-40 miles per hour.  There is even a virtual ride on their website.  For more information, check out the Indiana DNR website.
