Winter Jam 2012 Tour Spectaular This Friday!

This Friday, the 2012 Winter Jam Tour Spectacular will bring a collective ensemble of Christian Music’s most popular artists to perform on one stage at Freedom Hall.  Though the tour consists of multiple GRAMMY Award winners and nominees, Winter Jam is dedicated to staying focused on making the event about its mission in ministry, and about a night families can afford to share.

The concert features12 wildly-popular entertainers and bands:

Skillet- Skillet’s newest album, “Awake,” was named as Billboard’s Top Christian album of 2010.  The rock group has also experienced much mainstream success with their hit single “Hero,” which has been used by the NFL, as well as their hit “Awake & Alive," featured on the Transformers: Dark of the Moon soundtrack.

Sanctus Real- the Toledo, Ohio native and GRAMMY-nominated Sanctus Real has produced five albums with more than seven number one hit singles including “Lead Me” and “Forgiven.”

Building 429- After topping the charts in 2004 with their hit single, “Glory Defined,” this foursome’s popularity grew strong in the industry. Embarking on almost a decade of success, Building 429 is now working on their fifth studio album.

Group 1 Crew- The urban sounds and catchy beats of Group 1 Crew have won the group eight DOVE award nominations, winning five. Group 1 Crews’ hits have been seen all over television and at the top of the Billboard and other Christian charts.

Dara Maclean- This Fort Worth, Texas native began singing at age 8. Since then, her graceful voice has guided her through a successful career with many hit singles like her newest, “Suitcases.”

For King and Country- This brother duo from Australia burst onto the music scene after moving to Nashville, Tn. in the early 90’s with songs like “Busted Heart” and “People Change.”

We as Human – We as Human are continuing to make a name for themselves, recently signing with Atlantic Records. The group’s newly released self-titled EP recently grabbed the number 30 spot on the New Artist Album Chart.

Newsong- The hosts of the evening will also be performing some of their hit singles, 20 of which have graced the number one spot in Christian radio singles.

The tour also features popular speaker Nick Hall, the voice behind PULSE, the fastest growing youth evangelistic movement in America. Also, popular illusionist and lead investigator in the Discovery Channel’s recent documentary “The Miracles of Jesus,” Brock Gill will make an appearance.

With a lineup like that, some are surprised by the low-cost of the show, just $10 at the door. But when the group Newsong created the tour in 1995, they pledged to keep it about family, and affordability. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. Bring the whole family for a night of music, ministry and fun.
