The snow falling is so wonderful. The lights at night up and down the street. The sound of children playing in the cold. The sounds and sights and feelings of winter are hard to ignore.
Some hardy, mostly younger cyclist can be seen here and there trying to make headway through the snow covered fields, or streets, or even plowing through snow banks but not too many are brave enough to venture out into the winter on their bike.
Snow bikes look like fun, although once again they look as though they are made for the younger cyclist and not the older, more secure on a paved trail kind of cyclist. The big fat balloon tires sure look cool. Falling into a snow pile is probably a lot nicer than falling on a trail or road, maybe just a bit colder. Perhaps someone will ride a snow bike past my living room window someday while I'm enjoying a hot cup of coffee and thinking about spring.
