Winter's Here... How to Stay Warm Yet Still Look 'Cool'

Winter is finally rearing it's arctic head, and reminding us how frigid January can really be. We are forced to dig to the deepest depths of our winter wardrobe in hopes to keep from freezing, with less concern with looking fabulous. Well no worries my lovely ladies, it is possible to still look fantastic while staying nice and toasty with a few basic concepts in chic cold weather survival.

Being that we reside in the Northeast, and at that very close to NYC, we see a whole lot of black-on-black ensembles in our winter wear choices. Steer away from the winter doldrums and add a splash of color with a bright and bold choice of your winter accessories/necessities to keep cozy. There are many stylish and exciting choices in scarves, hats and gloves found nowadays that will brighten not only your outfit, but your mood as well! Check out a few ideas here.

While a vest can add some heat to an outfit, I know personally when the weather is this cold, I want my arms covered. So get the best of both worlds, and adorn yourself with a jacket with contrasting sleeves... You will get the versatility of a vest, but get the warmth of a jacket. Check out the adorable options right here.

At times I still want to rock a dress or skirt in the depths of winter. Yes, I am aware that it is freezing out (thanks Mom), and yet I can still stay warm now thanks to the many choices of tall boots given extra heat with the addition of cozy knee socks over my stockings. I love this look and maybe it stems back to my leg-warmer-loving ballerina past, but you can change the whole look of your outfit with the right pair of socks shown above your boot. I just love the glimpse of lace you can see at the top of your boots, as seen here.

While the thought of thermal makes me envision lumberjack-looking grizzly men, there are plenty of adorable options to pick from as a style-conscious female that will still flatter our figures and keep us feeling toasty as well. Something about that waffle-weave keeps me extra snug in the depths of winter. Here are a couple cute ideas to get inspired by.

All in all, staying warm and fashionable can be synonymous this winter. Keep yourself insulated and in-style with some of these ideas, or feel free to share your own look with us. And as always, don't forget you're never fully dressed without a smile!
