A Michigan winter without snow is no fun! Hopefully there will be snow soon, so you can start snow shoeing and cross country skiing to beat the winter blues!
Hudson Mills Metro Park in Dexter offers cross country ski clinics on the following Saturdays: January 28th, February 11th and February 25th. Clinics are held at 10:30am, you must register ahead by calling 734-426-8211. You can bring your own equipment, or rent skis for $10. The class is free; park entrance fee is $5.
If you want to try snowshoeing, REI is offering a class on February 12th at the same park. You can rent snowshoes from REI. Register by calling 734-827-1938. There are two times for the clinic, 1pm and 2:30pm. The 1pm time is geared for families with young children. This class also includes cross country skiing and ski rentals.
Still no snow? Try laser tag for indoor fun. Zap-Zone has several locations around Ann Arbor, and Paradise Park in Novi has good reviews too.
