Winter Park Resort and the town of Winter Park announced today that they’re teaming up for the annual Winter Park Winter Carnival, which starts this Friday and continues through Sunday, Jan. 27.
The celebration includes a parade, fireworks, and is highlighted by everybody’s favorite lady’s 38th birthday bash, Mary Jane.
Mary Jane’s birthday will be an all-day affair on Saturday, including a look-alike contest at the Club Car beginning at 2:30 p.m. where couples dressed as “Mary Jane and The Miner,” could win an array of great prizes, including airline ticket vouchers courtesy of Frontier Airlines. Costumes will be judged on originality, creativity, imagination, resourcefulness, and overall appeal.
This year’s Mary Jane sticker will be unveiled in the culmination of the resort’s Mary Jane sticker design contest. Free birthday cake for Mary Jane’s birthday will be served at the Club Car from 3-6 p.m.
Additionally, the annual Winter Carnival features the SnowDash 5K Adventure Race on Saturday at Hideaway Park beginning at 10 a.m. as well as the annual Winter Carnival Parade down Main Street and a spectacular fireworks show on Saturday night beginning at 6 p.m.
Since it is Mary Jane’s birthday, Winter Park is also offering a special stay-and-play lodging deal. For every night of lodging booked, you get a $50 dining voucher good at any restaurant at Winter Park Resort. With rooms starting at $119 a night, that’s essentially a room for just $69. The offer is valid for stays from now until March 31.
