The weather outside might be a tad bit chilly this weekend, but inside Hanger 30 at Magnuson Park it’s going to be plenty toasty as the annual Winter Beer Fest opens its doors to more than 50 brewers who call Washington State their home.
From hoppy holiday ales to rich, malty stouts you’ll find well over 150 beers that will be pulled during the two day fest which kicks off this Friday, Dec. 6. As in years past, 30 bucks gets you in the door ($25 in advance) with a tasting cup along with tokens for six 5oz beer tastes.
But unlike previous Winter Beer Fests, this crowd pleaser is looking to accommodate a few more warm bodies and has made the switch from its original digs (Hale’s Palladium) to the larger venue at Magnuson Park. With the move, organizers of the event say that they expect to accommodate “more than 1,000 craft beer connoisseurs per session.”
And speaking of sessions, the fest kicks off with its first session tomorrow night from 5 – 9 pm. The beer-flowing festivities continue the following day (Saturday, Dec. 7) with the first session kicking off at 12 noon and running until 4 pm. The final session for this year’s Winter Beer Fest starts Saturday at 5:30 pm with the last pull of the taps happening just before 9:30 pm.
As always, tickets for this popular event are going fast. For additional information for advance purchases, as well as a full lineup of participating brewers (and onsite food options) visit the latest info from the Washington Beer Commission.
