Winter is upon us and just last night, the northeastern states received a foot of snow plus more in some areas. It is a reminder of the anime pictures that feature anime characters having fun in the snow, celebrating Christmas, or making snowmen and enjoying hot cocoa while snow falls around them. In the ending credits of Inuyasha: The Final Act, a winter scene of Sesshomaru, Rin, and Jaken is shown. Rin and Jakan are making a snowman while Sesshomaru does what he enjoys best, relaxing under a tree.

Truly winter is upon us and just like in real life, anime characters also deal with winter. Wolf's Rain, Inuyasha: Affections Crossing through Time, the second season of School Rumble, Fruits Basket, Blood +, Ouran Host Club, Loveless, Ronin Warriors, Clannad, Kanon, and DN Angel showed scenes of a winter landscape.

Winter is not all fun and games though. As seen in real life, there is usually trouble at some point. In Ronin Warriors: Splitting the Stone, Mia and Sage struggle with snow caused by Cale, the Warlord of Darkness. Just as a vehicle may slide off the road or become blocked by a mound of snow, the very same happens in anime when winter has come. But winter can have its beauty where anime characters may engage in a snowball war, or where the snow hits them just right that it becomes magical.
