Winslet makeup free: Kate Winslet, Scarlett Johansson go sans makeup for VF

Want to see Kate Winslet makeup free? Well, now you can. The "Divergent" actress joined other celebs in the new Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue for a natural, no glam photoshoot that has people talking. On Feb. 6, Mail Online posted the makeup free photo of Kate Winslet and also the one of actress Scarlett Johansson -- and yes, they are worth a look.

Other celebrities that made the cut this year include Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Oprah Winfrey (all sans makeup). Photos of Bette Middler and Jessica Lange were also published -- and both women defy their ages with clean, clear skin.

Seeing Kate Winslet makeup free isn't earth shattering but there really is something neat about seeing a high profile celebrity just broken down to a "normal" person without all the glitz. Normally these women have makeup artists that make them look stunning but to see their natural beauty is easily more intimate -- and that's why people are passing around the pictures today.

So who is the photographer behind these shots? That would be Chuck Close.

"I don’t do glamour (sic) shots, and they’re not airbrushed or whatever. So they can be, um…they can be rough. So I need to talk people through it. They have to give up a great deal of vanity in order to do it. And it takes a real act of generosity and faith on the part of the subject to go with it and to give me their image without having any control over what’s gonna happen," explained award-winning photographer Chuck Close.
