The Winnipeg Jets will face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Monday in the fourth game of a six-game road swing.
After beating the New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders, Winnipeg dropped a 2-1 decision to the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday. The Jets are 5-6-1 on the road this season.
This will be the first meeting this season between the Jets and Rangers. Last season, Winnipeg took two out three games in the series. The teams split a pair of games at MSG.
Here are three players to watch on each side:
Winnipeg Jets (5-3-2)
C Olli Jokinen -- Jokinen collected two goals and two assists for a team-best four points against the Rangers last season. He has four goals and 10 assists, but he's still searching for his first road goal of the season.
G Ondrej Pavelec -- Pavelec was between the pipes for both victories against the Rangers last season and has a career record of 4-4-1 against them. He is 9-10-3 with a .916 save percentage this season.
LW Andrew Ladd -- If Evander Kane (14 points) sits out against the Rangers (see note below), Ladd will have to pick up some of the slack. Seventeen of his 20 points this season have come after an off day.
Injury note: Kane (lower-body injury) was held out of practice on Saturday and Sunday, and coach Claude Noel called his status for Monday questionable. Read more about Kane's injury in the Winnipeg Sun.
New York Rangers (14-13-0)
RW Ryan Callahan -- There may not be a player in the league more deserving of the "C' on his jersey than the gritty Callahan, who has six goals and four assists in 19 games. Last season, Callahan had three goals and three assists for a team-best six points against Winnipeg, and he has scored a goal in five straight games against the Jets.
LW Brad Richards -- Richards has 57 points in 53 games against the Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets. He has a team-best seven goals and is tied with Derek Stepan for the team lead in points with 19.
RW Rick Nash -- Nash, who had a goal and an assist against Vancouver, has found the back of the net in three straight games. The streaky winger has four goals and five assists in 10 games.
