“The heart has reasons that reason does not understand.” – Jacques Benigne Bossuel
If you could speak to your heart, what would you say? Would you send it back to where it comes from? In “Heart-Strings” a girl is tired of the unpredictable impulses of her heart and declares it defective; she tries to get rid of it. But a heart is stubborn and always comes back!
The unique idea behind the Fringe Festival is to break traditional boundaries between art and audiences. Participants have total artistic freedom. As such, creativity is not constrained and ideas can flow naturally. “Heart-Strings” uses art in the most unique fashion and invites audience members to embark on a journey into self-acceptance.
In life, the more you fight feelings, the more they fight back. The more you try to lock up your heart, the more freedom it wants. In a nutshell, it is impossible to quit something that keeps people alive. And this is exactly what “Heart-Strings” is about. The play teaches that emotions are part of life and the fabric that makes us truly human.
“Heart-Strings” is a very unique play that mixes music, choreographed movements and some poetry to create a lovely emotional experience to which everyone can relate. Both actresses maintain constant visual contact, play and share with audience members, hence making them a complete part of the experience. Simply put, the play is delightful.
