Disneyland Resort hosted the Disney’s Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend which included three races over the weekend. Never Land and runDisney focus on family and child centered races. Tinker Bell Half Marathon encourages women runners to participate.
Cheers were heard up and down Downtown Disney as this year’s winner Angela Escay of Carmichael, CA finished the race with a run time of 1:24:10. She set a new race record over last year’s winner, Kellie Nickerson of Albuquerque, NM, who ran the same 13.1 miles in 1:27:52.
Every finishing marathoner received a commemorative pin. T-Shirts were available for purchase at the resort this weekend.
The next half marathon is scheduled for February 22-24, 2013 at Walt Disney World in Florida. The next California event is Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend August 20 – September 1, 2013.
