The Teen Choice Awards are an exciting event, not just for those in the entertainment business, but for viewers as well. Usually held at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion, the 2014 event was moved to the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles due to a water main break. Sarah Hyland of "Modern Family" and "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey hosted the awards, which aired on Aug. 10. Performers included Rixton, Jason Derulo, Becky G, Magic! and Demi Lovato with Cher Lloyd. The Ultimate Choice Award went to Selena Gomez. So who won the 2014 Teen Choice Awards in the television categories?
Lucy Hale of "Pretty Little Liars" won the Choice TV Actress award for drama while Lea Michele of "Glee" won for comedy. The sci-fi/fantasty category ended up being won by Nina Dobrev of "The Vampire Diaries." Tyler Blackburn and Ashley Benson, both of "Pretty Little Liars," won the Choice Summer TV star for their gender. Shakira and Adam Levine, both of "The Voice" won the reality television personality awards.
For television shows, "Faking It" won the breakout show award and "Pretty Little Liars" took home the award for drama. "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" won the reality show category while "The Vampire Diaries" was voted for fantasy/sci-fi. For comedy, "The Big Bang Theory" won and "The Simpsons" took home the award for animated television show. The Choice TV Reality Competition award went to "The Voice."
Ian Harding of "Pretty Little Liars" won the Choice TV Actor for drama, Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" took home the award for sci-fi/fantasy and comdey went to Ross Lynch of "Austin & Ally." Viewers voted Dylan O'Brien of "Teen Wolf" for the television villain award. The Choice TV Scene Stealer awards went to Tyler Hoechlin of "Teen Wolf" and Candice Accola of "The Vampire Diaries." Breakout star awards went to Sasha Pieterse of "Pretty Little Liars" and Brett Dalton of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." For summer TV shows, "Wipeout" was the winner and Ashley Benson of "Pretty Little Liars" took home the female TV star award.
