Winners of Pinellas Park Art Society artists' choice member show, March 2013 (Photos)

The winners of the Pinellas Park Art Society March "Artists' Choice" member show were announced on Monday, March 11, 2013, at the gallery in Park Street Station. Artist John Carroll created a piece that was very popular, a watercolor and acrylic painting with the title, "Generations." It received both the second place prize and the People's Choice awards.

March 2013 Artists's Choice Members Show Winners:

1st Place - Jean Hurst - "Parker" - Watercolor painting

2nd Place - John Carroll - "Generations" - Watercolor/Acrylic painting

3rd Place - Nancy Emmick - "A Peacock Named Blue" - Fluid Acrylic painting

Honorable Mention - Linda Smith - "White Plum" - Watercolor painting

Honorable Mention - Frank Lane - "Jazz" - Mixed Media

Merit Award - Barbara Lewis - "Chicken Scratch" - Scratchboard

Merit Award - Ruth Rothstein - "Flowers on a Japanese Screen" - Oil

People's Choice - John Carroll - "Generations" - Watercolor/Acrylic painting

Carl M Hetherly updated the members and public at large about the art group, and invited new people to come and join the group's activities. He said that Park Station will be closed on Saturday, March 16th, as many PPAS artists will be showing and selling their work at Country in the Park. The regularly scheduled Saturday Open House, Art Show and Sale at Park Station resumes March 23rd.

Carl M Hetherly wrote, "The Pinellas Park Art Society is a non-profit organization serving the Pinellas County area since 1964. We support visual fine arts through classes, seminars, workshops, demonstrations, monthly art shows and exhibits, off center exhibits, monthly general meetings, and community outreach."

"The media we teach include but, are not limited to, drawing in pen and ink, pencil, and colored pencil, painting with pastel, watercolor, oil, and acrylic, photography, digital art, and scratchboard. We are open to all forms of visual fine art, and encourage new types of visual art."
