Winners of 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

Tonight thousands of television fans and well-wishers in Fresno and all across the country tuned in to watch the best in this year's television receive the highest recognition of their peers during The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Hosted by Jimmy Fallen, this year's awards show was as musical as it was humorous.   The show was full of short musical duets by Fallen and various other stars to introduce TV categories and a musical number to pay tribute to shows that ended this year (24, Law & Order, Lost).  And that goes without mentioning the opening number.

The winners this year were quite varied and pleasing to watch.  Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) took home the Emmy for Outstanding Leading Actor in a Drama Series, while Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) was named Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Series. Aaron Paul (Breaking Point) won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife) won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) won for Outstanding Leading Actor in a Comedy Series, while Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) was named Outstanding Leading Actress in a Comedy Series. Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) took home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, and Jane Lynch (Glee) was named Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Al Pacino (You Don't Know Jack) won for Outstanding Leading Actor in a TV Mini-Series or Movie, and Claire Danes (Temple Grandin) won for Outstanding Leading Actress in a TV Mini-Series or Movie. David Strathairn (Temple Grandin) was awarded Outstanding Supporting Actor in a TV Mini-Series or Movie, while Julia Ormond (Temple Grandin) won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a TV Mini-Series or Movie.

Highest Honors went to Mad Men for Outstanding Drama Series, Modern Family for Outstanding Comedy Series, Top Chef for Outstanding Reality Competition, The Daily Show with John Stewart for Outstanding Variety Series, The Pacific for Outstanding Mini-Series, and Temple Grandin for Outstanding TV Movie.

There were also special honors giving to actor George Clooney, who tonight was presented with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.
